A Book That I LOVED: Verity, by Colleen Hoover
Let me begin by setting the scene:
Int. morning. It's a Saturday in March, the sun is rising and the cool breezes are whirling through the alley out back. A young woman (that's me!) snuggles up on the couch, comforted by a cozy blanket and an outrageously hot cup of... instant coffee. (Don't @ me, I was staying with a friend.) On her lap sits an overloaded MacBook, that's currently displaying the first page of Verity, by Colleen Hoover. This young woman has no homework due, no plans made, and no expectations set for the day ahead. She begins reading...
Fantastic! You have the image of my morning in your minds eye. Now for the major spoiler alert... I READ THE ENTIRE BOOK IN ONE SITTING, GIVE OR TAKE BEVERAGE REFILLS AND BATHROOM BREAKS!!!!!! I was blown away, or rather stuck to the couch, if we're being honest. What a refreshing, juicy, thrilling and mind boggling read. Without giving story details away, I found myself unable to set the book down, because each chapter left me with questions that had to be answered right away. The book was an easy read, yet stimulating and thought provoking. I could have reread it the very next morning, it was that good!
Alright, I know what you're thinking... "Ash, is this book really that good? Are you just being crazy? Would I actually like it?" And my answers are: YES, Most Likely, AND HELL YEAH YOU WILL! To be honest, I am not someone who enjoys reading via tech. I prefer to have the pages in my hand, the experience of flipping to the next chapter, the smell of the paper... and yet I never thought twice about reading this one online. I read it via the Kindle App. I'd recommend this book to any reader. If you like steamy books, romance, thrillers, drama, suspense, writers, books within books (spoiler) and really anything juicy, then this is the book for you!
As always, I would love for you to read this and to leave your thoughts in the comment section. I think we have a brilliant TV show on our hands. Shonda Rhimes, are you available to chat?
Stay safe, healthy and happy y'all,
Loads of love! Happy reading!

Ash
